Prof. Massimo Simion examines how guided bone regeneration has improved esthetic outcomes in implant restoration, with an emphasis on diagnosis and treatment planning for the final prosthetic result.
This course examines how the introduction of guided bone regeneration (GBR) concepts over the past several decades has changed the esthetic outcomes achievable in implant restoration. It addresses how bone volume and contour, once treated primarily as a prerequisite for implant placement, are now managed with the final prosthetic and esthetic result in mind.
The presentation covers diagnostic criteria for evaluating hard and soft tissue deficiencies, the multidisciplinary planning needed to coordinate surgical and prosthetic phases of treatment, and how these considerations affect case selection and sequencing in esthetically demanding implant cases.
