Dr. Marisa Roncati is a registered dental hygienist and Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy, teaching in the Master's Degree Program in Implant-Prosthesis with Advanced Technologies under Chairman Professor R. Scotti, a role she has held since 2016 after lecturing in the same program from 2006.
She specializes in non-surgical periodontal and peri-implant therapy, including diode-laser-assisted protocols, an approach aimed at managing periodontal and peri-implant disease without recourse to surgery where possible.
Dr. Roncati trained at the Forsyth School in Boston, earning her American Board dental hygiene certification in 1984, and later completed a degree in General Dentistry at the University of Ferrara in 2000. Her research output includes some 36 published papers cited more than 380 times.
She authored the textbook Nonsurgical Periodontal Therapy and co-authored Peri-implant Diseases: Surgical Treatments, both published by Quintessence, and has taught workshops at EuroPerio6 in Stockholm and at an international symposium in Boston.
At Dental Leaders Academy, she teaches evidence-based non-surgical periodontal protocols.
