Prof. Dean Vafiadis, DDS, is a prosthodontist and Clinical Professor of Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS in 1991, and adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. He also holds a Clinical Associate Professor appointment at NYU's Rosenthal Institute for Aesthetic Advantage and serves as a prosthodontic attending at St. Barnabas Hospital and the Mount Sinai Medical Center.

He is founder and CEO of New York Smile Institute in Manhattan, a practice specializing in esthetic and implant-supported full-mouth rehabilitation, where he treats complex prosthetic cases that combine digital planning with surgical and restorative execution.

Dr. Vafiadis directs NYUCD's Full Mouth Rehabilitation continuing-education program, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and belongs to the American College of Prosthodontists, the Northeastern Gnathological Society, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He serves on the clinical advisory board of the Journal of Clinical Advanced Implant Dentistry, has published widely on implants, esthetics and digital dentistry, and has delivered several hundred continuing-education programs to dentists worldwide.

At Dental Leaders Academy, he teaches protocols for complex prosthetic and implant rehabilitation.
